A New York Post “Summer Must-Read” Pick
I am loving this string of thriller books that have emerged since Gone Girl hit shelves. Mysteries have always been my first choice in fiction. I think I read ever single Agatha Christie book by age 11. No joke. Love me some Hercule Perot.
I feel like the next Gone Girl was Girl on a Train. If you’ve read these or look them up on your Goodreads account, you probably have seen Woman in Cabin 10 suggested. I ignored it for a while because the title seemed to close to the others and it felt a bit copy-catish. Well, it is but it isn’t.
In the same vein as the other, a girl whose life is in a bit of disarray encounters drama. This protagonist happens to find it on a boat. A tad different. It offers a girl, a young journalist, trying to accelerate her career by taking a luxury liner in search of a story when she encounters a girl in a Pink Floyd t-shirt. The mystery begins when the mysterious girl in cabin 10 disappears…or she was never there to begin with.
It’s not going to win awards, but it is well-written and totally could be made into a movie.
Some other thrillers I’ve read this summer below. All can be found on Amazon.
To be honest, all these titles seems to sounds the same to me now that I type them all out. BUT, they are all entertaining, perfect summer reads.
