Hi Readers!
How is summer going so far? We just got back from a family trip to Nantucket and I think we all want to go back immediately!
While I was there, one of the books I finished was The Christie Affair. Here is a review….
Book Review:
The Christie Affair by Nina de Gramont
I’ll start by saying I’m ver protective of all things Agatha Christie. She was my childhood hero and I consumed her books more than anything else.
I did not know about this time in her life when she went missing. I thought it very brave if the author to try to fill in some of the blanks as to what carried on. Some of the scenes felt a bit far fetched. I tried to go w most of them.
The time hops towards then end we’re a bit confusing as was the POV. The story makes me more curious about her marriage and that’s a good thing. However I found it difficult to believe that she was so warm towards the woman who was having an affair w her husband. And the house? The respite where they all found themselves? A bit difficult to believe.
The writing was well done snd like I said, author was very brave to take this on. Interesting read.
