The Bookstore

I took my kids to the mall last weekend. Why would I do that, you may ask? I’m not sure. They caught me at a week moment. But, while they were standing in line at the Aunt Annie’s Pretzel shop, I snuck into Barnes & Noble.

I mostly read on my Kindle these days because I find if I have the same size and type of font for every book I read, then I read faster. Do you? But, there is nothing like going into a bookstore and browsing and holding the new releases. Of course, right now I am interested in the master/thriller section as I start to think about my cover design. I’m still not sure if I will get much of a say in how it looks, but I care. I care deeply about a book cover. Kinda think we all do if we are being honest.

Here are some of the titles, fonts, designs that are out there. Like everything, there are trends in book designs. Suspense novels seem to have darker colors in this moment…
